Enjoy a River Front View and Fishing Within a Few Feet!
Red River RV Park, Cabins and Yurt Camping are open all year, with nightly, weekly and monthly rates to suit everyone's travel plans. Located within walking distance of downtown, the Red River Shuttle bus service stops right at the RV Park!
The RV Park features large spaces with full hook ups, cable TV, public showers, coin operated laundry, and an activities room, which is great for large groups and family reunions. 30 and 50 amp sites are available. RV spaces back up to the Red River, where you can cool your feet or catch your dinner!
River Retreat Cabins
The River Retreat Cabins were built in 2001 and are located right on the river. They are 900 square feet each, and two stories high.
The cabins have rough exterior siding cut from trees with the bark still attached - bringing back the historical look of the old mining days in Red River. The interiors, however, are very modern and well equipped, offering a private getaway for up to eight people.
Each cabin has a porch which is just ten feet from the river. The bottom story offers a swing and porch furniture for your enjoyment. You can spend hours in the swing just watching and feeding the wild ducks. You can even fish from your porch!
The top story has two large, separate bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath between them. One bedroom has a large glass door that opens onto a balcony overlooking the river. Guests love to sit on the balcony and have their morning coffee while they enjoy the spectacular view of the mountains, trees and the river. Downstairs there is a private bedroom with queen bed and a bath with a shower.
River Retreat Cabin kitchens are equipped with an electric stove, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, a coffee pot, a crock-pot, a mixer, pans and skillets, and a toaster. Dishes and silverware will serve up to eight people. All you need to bring are groceries and the cook!
The living area features a queen hideaway bed sofa, a color TV with 36 channel cable TV, and a large table. The unit has forced natural gas heat.
Cabin 5 is fully handicap accessible downstairs.
Cabin guests have the use of the Laundromat and meeting room at the Red River RV Park next door.
A free trolley stops by the cabins and goes all around Red River stopping at shops, restaurants and ski and snowmobile rental businesses, as well as the Red River Ski Area.
Red River RV Park Yurts
Yurts are the newest addition to the Red River RV Park. Like the RV spaces and cabins, yurts are located alongside the Red River, for easy access. Yurts are equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, table and chairs, propane fire places, a futon or bunk beds and half bath. Bring your own linens, pillows and blankets or rent ours for a small fee!
Red River Means Fun All Year Long
Located at the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains, Red River, New Mexico, is northeast of Taos at the top of the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway. Set in the Sangre de Cristo range of the Rockies, Red River is surrounded by over a million acres of the Carson National Forest, with hundreds of hiking and mountain biking trails for every skill level. Northern New Mexico is also know for its many spectacular road biking opportunities, which keep cyclists returning again and again.
Summer in Red River
Red River offers outdoor enthusiasts adventures year round, with hiking, rock climbing, picnicking, camping, and fishing for New Mexico's native cutthroat trout. Ride horseback through the forest for an hour, or on a camping trip through the beautiful Valle Vidal. Enjoy alpine meadows filled with wildflowers, and when your ride is over, put your horse away and mosey on over to a Cowboy Evening, for outdoor fun, food and entertainment cowboy style!
Just down the road near Taos, the expansive mesa surrounded by the Rocky Mountains produces the perfect thermals for hot air ballooning, and the Rio Grande and Chama Rivers provide leisurely river floats to Class V rapids for those experienced in whitewater rafting. And of course, you can always just relax and enjoy some of the best weather anywhere, hundreds of hummingbirds, and star-filled night skies!

Winter in Red River
Red River has long been a favorite ski destination for families and Spring Break revelers. The arid climate produces a wonderful powdery snow, and if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate, the Red River Ski Area is happy to oblige, with the most snowmaking in New Mexico. bring the whole family for great skiing, snowboarding and blading, and tubing for everyone! The Forest provides wonderful trails for snoW shoeing and cross country skiing, and you can rent or bring your own snowmobile.
